I value my membership in The National Kitchen & Bath Association for many reasons, but the most exciting one is the opportunity to attend the largest industry show in the USA, each January. NKBA’s prized show is KBIS (Kitchen and Bath Industry Show) which combined with builder’s show encompassed 1.2M square feet of show space and hosted 100,000 attendees from the world over. What happened in Vegas didn’t stay in Vegas. I’m bringing it to YOU!
NKBA performs extensive research to keep designers up-to-date on all the latest trends affecting our interior designs of Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel. Here are just a few of them.
Based on consumer demand and manufacturing research, the top 4 Bathroom and Kitchen Remodel finishes for appliances and fixtures (plumbing faucets, lighting, etc.) are as follows:
1. Matte Black
Black is a neutral, is easily incorporated into existing surroundings, makes an impactful statement, timeless choice, and hides those pesky fingerprints. It’s also readily available for lighting, countertop appliances, and sinks.

2. Stainless Steel
Say what you will BUT stainless is here to stay, possibly forever! Silver is neutral, goes well with any color scheme, can be combined with other metals, is sophisticated, comes brushed or satin or highly polished, and is readily available in any accessory product. Note the bright red knobs on this Wolf unit.

3. Warm Metallics and Ombre’
I love this look in hair color and now it’s available in faucets, fixtures, and even this spectacular freestanding tub. Warm metallics include copper, brass, bronze and lend themselves to just about any style interior.

4. Vibration-Brushed Metals
Instead of observable brush strokes on metallic finishes, we are seeing a lower gloss, smoother metallic finish. What a great option! Love the brass. Monogram’s Pizza Hearth.
